The High Tech Making Camp 2024 is taught by local instructors, Albert Rossner and Brian Owen! Check out their bios below…

My name is Albert Rossner, and I’m married and have four children with my wife, Holly. We have lived in Jackson County since 1996. All of our children graduated from Parma Western schools and received advanced college degrees. Our oldest graduated from Jackson College in the Nursing program and now resides in Greenville, NC as a Nurse Practitioner for a Cardiac Thoracic Surgeon. I’ve taught for over 30 years in the field of Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Robotics. Most recently I was a High School teacher at Northwest High School for their STEM program working directly with Technique, Inc.  At Jackson College, I plan to develop a more advanced program that incorporates High Tech, High Skill programs that lead to High Wage careers in Advanced Manufacturing, Automation and Robotics through Industry 4.0 Advancements alongside many Jackson, Hillsdale, and Lenawee county employers.

My name is Brian Owen. I have been working in manufacturing since 2014. I started my career as a machinist through the JAC3 program with Petty Machine and Tool. Upon graduating high school I decided I wanted to teach the trade so in October of 2016 I taught my first machining class as an assistant instructor. While working and teaching, I finished up my Associate in Applied Science- Advanced Manufacturing, CNC Machining Certificate and the JAMA Apprenticeship program as a CNC Machinist. After 7 years of machining I decided to move on and try engineering. In 2021 I took an opportunity to be a design engineer for Caster Concepts and Conceptual Innovations where I learned a ton about designing in Solidworks. In August of 2022 I became the Lead Instructor for Manufacturing Technologies and Engineering at The Shoprat Foundation.
